There is a town situated in plains of khaiberghat saptsindhu area called ADALAJ. We are supposed to origin from that town. There is a town called adalaj near Ahmadabad, which is not our origin. Various group of people arrived in charoter area of Gujarat. From ADALAJ our forefather SHAMAL PATEL first arrived in SOJITRA, initially settled there. After some time, he moved to nearby town called MALAVAD, 3km from Sojitra, ALONG WITH 25 BUFFALO 11 HORSES AND 12 BULLOCKS.

AFTER one year enter into dispute with local rajput Garacia. From malavad, shamal Patel moved to chikhodra along with all their belongings. First house was built near ghadia`s vad year vikram samat 1214 (855 yrs ago).

At that time main population of chikhodra was mudi parmar and near MAHADEV were that people also some bim kachia were settled. Thus our known history started 855 yrs ago.

Much later ago on mosal side families settled. Some outside Patel came for business and settled here permanently. Those families will be included for record.

For next five generation there was only one son to each parent. So no land division was necessary. Virji Patel had 3 sons but only one was married harkhaji Patel. He had 3 sons. All were married. So first time it was necessary to divide the property among three sons. Total property value in that time currency (say Rs & ANNAS ) WAS 96 RS. HERE IS interesting story most of us always be lived chikhodra had four bhag (division) and we were four brothers population. But in reality we are three brothers children. When property of harkhji Patel was to be divided among three brother’s oldest jivandas middle one gangadas and youngest nanabhai interesting thing happened. Two older brothers had more children then property and he took 24Rs instead of 32Rs. Both jivandas and gangadas each got 36Rs worth property total 96Rs worth. This is wise we always be lived four bhag and youngest brother nanabhai. Nanabhai agreed to make four bhag (division) of the wrongly four brother’s generation. two older brothers generation should be grateful to nanabhai`s generation, for allocating bigger share.
